A flow and restorative retreat with live acoustic music to wake up to.
If you feel the need to recharge your batteries as we are slowly leaving winter behind and open up for spring and you feel the urge to come home to a peaceful place inside yourself, this mini retreat is for you.
The intention of this workshop is to offer practices and guidance that open space for you to experience a deeper awareness and acceptance of yourself one breath at a time. There is no end goal in this journey, nothing to achieve because - ironically - self-acceptance comes when we stop striving, reaching or forcing. The retreat is made up of three parts: breathing and movement, sounding and meditation, restorative yoga and live music.
We will begin with a yoga nidra to set the tone for the entire experience, followed by breath awareness and body awareness exercises which will turn into more classical yoga postures and breath initiated movement. To bridge over into the restorative part of the retreat, we will join our voices in a sounding practice followed by a meditation. The last hour of the retreat is dedicated to deep rest and the offering of live acoustic music towards the end of the journey.
The special treat is the offering of live acoustic guitar and vocals towards the end of the final relaxation pose. Maren has been writing, playing and singing for her own enjoyment for years and more recently began to share her music on invitation by other teachers at the end of yoga nidras and during savasana as well as in her workshops for women. The choice of songs will be in tune with the intention of the retreat and slowly guide you from deep relaxation to a more active mindset leaving you ready to meet the outside world.
