Restorative Yoga is a practice that takes time. There is no rush to get into poses or out of poses. The body, mind and nervous system take a while to unwind and hand themselves over into the trusted hands of gravity, which means it is useful to remain in a restorative pose for a little while once you have found comfort, warmth, quiet (for all senses) which leads to stillness of the body - not because you aren't allowed or supposed to move but because no part of you feels any urge to move. We will begin with a lying down breathing relaxation, followed by gentle and simple floor based movement and a meditation to arrive in the room and relocate from your head into your body. To open up the opportunity to dive into your intuitive wisdom, I will offer a yoga nidra at some point through the practice. For the opportunity to let your heart be touched, me and my guitar will offer gentle song once or twice. Other than that, there is a whole lot of constructive and delicious lying around going on. By the end of the workshop, you will feel nourished, nurtured and relaxed.
I am looking forward to holding this space for you to rest(ore).
